Every year the Medical Travel Quality Alliance (MTQUA) inspects hospitals in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North and South America, and tests them for their expertise and services in treating and caring for people from around the world who have travelled for medical help. The current top ten destinations have now been announced at ITB Berlin 2017.
The Asklepios Klinik in Barmbek near Hamburg in Germany was number one, followed by the Clemenceau Medical Centre in the Lebanese capital Beirut and the Fortis Hospital Bannerghatta in India. The other seven hospitals offering services for medical tourists were in Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Jordan, Thailand, Mexico and Turkey.
